How this calculator works

Turn recurring monthly charges into yearly costs and estimate cancellation savings.. Review bank and card transactions from at least two billing cycles, then search email for receipt, renewal, membership and trial. Include annual renewals, app-store billing, cloud storage, memberships, streaming, software and delivery plans. Do not share account numbers or screenshots containing private information.

Important assumptions

Record the service, amount, billing interval, next renewal date and who uses it. Convert annual fees to a monthly equivalent by dividing by twelve for comparison. Keep the actual due date visible because a monthly average does not tell you when cash leaves the account.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Mixing units or time periods.
  • Counting the same fee or tax twice.
  • Treating an estimate as a live quote or guarantee.
  • Ignoring maintenance, waste, exceptions or other costs outside the inputs.
