How this calculator works
Estimate the staff time cost of a meeting using attendees and an hourly cost assumption.. A meeting time estimate can use a rough hourly labor cost, but this is not the same as incremental cash spent. Choose whether your estimate represents salary time, a loaded labor rate or another internal measure and explain that choice.
Important assumptions
Include expected attendees and the actual duration. Preparation and follow-up may be important, but record them separately to avoid counting them twice. If someone attends only part of a meeting, use that time instead of assuming full attendance.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Mixing units or time periods.
- Counting the same fee or tax twice.
- Treating an estimate as a live quote or guarantee.
- Ignoring maintenance, waste, exceptions or other costs outside the inputs.
